Adventure in the Arctic

Another longtime resident of my collection that I finally chose to read and was riveted as soon as I read the first page. Arctic exploration has been a fascination of mine, probably due in part to a childhood in Newfoundland, where stories of the (mis)adventures of sailors, whalers, and sealers were common. We also learned about the doomed Franklin expedition in school. The Voyage of the Narwhal is a fictional account of one of the ships that ventured into the Arctic in search of that crew and their ship. It’s a story of people, those exploring and those being discovered, of the stories that are told, and the heroes that are made. (Backdrop is from the book Polar Obsession by Paul Nicklen.)
