A great addition to my “bibliophilic books” collection. I’m the same age as the author, so I shared a lot of the experiences as a young reader — dare I say we are kindred spirits of a sort? — and I enjoyed her unpretentious attitude to books and reading as an adult. Of course, I would LOVE to take a university course on vampire literature and history, so we do differ on our appreciation of certain genres. The only chapter I didn’t read (yet) is the one where she discusses Lincoln in the Bardo as I’m in the midst of reading it, and I don’t want any of its exquisite weirdness spoiled for me.
