The ‘Burbs, English Style

I came across this copy of Lesley Glaister’s novel Trick or Treat at @normals_books_records in Baltimore earlier this summer. What first caught my eye was the spelling of her first name, and then the title. After reading the blurb I decided to save it until now to read. The novel opens on Halloween and takes place over the next few days, culminating in Bonfire Night. But it’s not a scary story, at least in the traditional sense. There’s a sense of foreboding, and dark humor, and the dynamics of human connection and relationships. I quite enjoyed it. And as a special surprise, I found this copy of a pre-publication promotion letter tucked inside.
