Literary Bucket List Item

Today I went to the Morgan Library, one of my literary “bucket list” of places to visit. Aside from the regular collection, which in itself is amazing (so many books! plus letters from people such as Mary Queen of Scots and Virginia Woolf; and a portrait of Erasmus by Holbein), a special exhibit on display right now features medieval books and art devoted to the psalms. I also saw one of the few Gutenberg bibles in existence. Religion aside, these books are beautiful, and I think of the many hands who held them, in creation or prayer, through the centuries. I also love marginalia and spotted a few examples of those, too. I could easily go back and spend several hours here!
