Word Nerds, Unite!

Blurb Your Enthusiasm is such a fun, interesting read for book nerds like me. It’s written by a UK copywriter, so firstly, when she refers to blurbs, she’s talking about the brief synopsis of a book that’s found on the cover/inside flap, whereas on this side of the Atlantic, blurbs typically refer to those brief words of praise from other writers or publications that populate the book’s covers. (And which I tend to ignore, except to look at who they’re from). Louise Willder talks about the various verbiage related to book covers and does so in an informative yet never dull or pedantic way. She’s the type of writer who when I’m reading, I wish I knew in real life.
