This book was recommended to me by one of the booksellers at @sarniabookkeeper during my last visit. It was, often, an uncomfortable read, challenging some of my biases and perceptions. These essays, a mix of personal and cultural, hold a strong light up to the continuing effects of colonialism and various other “isms” that exist in Canada, both historically and today. And at the same time, it is deeply personal and vulnerable.
