Michael Crummey is a consummate storyteller. Galore is aptly titled, as it contains stories aplenty, intertwined through families, time, and a community, with a touch of the gothic and a shimmer of magical realism. Set over the course of a century in a fictional outport of Newfoundland, I could see this taking place at any of the remote fishing villages that dot the coast Newfoundland, including the one I’m from.
