I wish I had known about these books when I was a child; I’m sure my young self would have enjoyed them even more than my old self did. I timed my reading of The Dark is Rising to coincide with listening to the BBC audio adaptation beginning on the eve of the winter solstice. I read Over Sea, Under Stone simultaneously, and I’d be hard pressed to say which one I liked more. The BBC adaptation is superb and I highly recommend it.
