I read a digital ARC of this book a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. Its a fascinating portrayal of a teenage girl who escapes a famine and disease ridden colony in Virginia to survive on her own in the wilderness. Her experience is both beautiful and brutal and the writing is sublime.
