My Canadian fiction read for February was In the Upper Country, a historical novel set in an Ontario town settled by formerly enslaved Black people, a terminus for the Underground Railroad. The plot focuses on two women, but incorporates the stories of other individuals, both Black and Indigenous, and the ways they are connected. It was an interesting and enlightening read for me.
