AntiHeroes

Two recent reads. We Have Always Lived in the Castle has been on my shelf for many years (it even has a stamp on the inside cover from the sadly now defunct used bookstore where I bought it) while O Caledonia is a recent addition (only purchased a year ago!). Both books feature female antiheroes in isolated settings with gothic overtones and an overall atmosphere of foreboding. Both are relatively short novels that convey what would take lesser writers hundreds of pages. I loved them both.
