Like many Canadian women my age, I read The Handmaid’s Tale back in the 90s, and was blown away by it. Over the years, I’ve collected a few of Atwood’s other novels, and read a couple (Surfacing and Alias Grace come to mind). Since one of my goals is to read more of my longtime TBRs, these books are some of the top of my list. I started with The Blind Assassin, and once again, I was caught up in the writing and the storytelling, the story-within-story-within-a-story, and the internal lives of women versus what is seen. I loved it. Next up will be either The Robber Bride or Cat’s Eye.
