The cover of this book caught my eye immediately, and the premise? Teen babysitter, early 90s, classic horror movie references, “have you checked the children” vibes? Yes, please! I expected to love this book but I ended up just liking it. There’s an incident about midway through where I just didn’t think the aftermath (IYKYK) was remotely plausible. I also wasn’t a big fan of the jumping around timeline and not sure what the purpose was other than to add to the unsettled feeling of suspense.
