I ordered Frankissstein a couple of years ago from @shakespeareandcoparis and in addition to the iconic stamp and a store bookmark, inside was a Keats poem, typewritten by one of the shop’s “tumbleweeds.” This was my first time reading anything by Jeanette Winterson, and I wasn’t expecting it to be as funny as it was. It’s also a very timely novel, as among other topics, it asks what place AI has in our world, and us (humans) in theirs. I loved the bits written from Mary Shelley’s POV and the shade thrown at Byron.
