I bought this two winters ago as a winter project. I’m going to try and take what’s left of this winter and actually make it. I’m a little daunted by all of the pieces. 
I finally started putting together my little bookstore. Today was furniture assembly. Oliver is not impressed—he just wants to get in the box. Another progress pic: today I assembled a chair (which took FOREVER), a table and some accessories. I also skipped ahead and painted the frame and put it together. Instead of the included white paint, I printed off this pretty William Morris style wallpaper and painted the rest green to match. Tomorrow: books. Today’s progress pic: books, books, and more books! Lots of cutting and gluing involved. I took pictures of some of the books on my shelves, then sized them down and printed, for more personalization of this kit. Today’s progress: artwork and flowers. Instead of the standard images included in the kit, I found various pictures/prints online and printed those. I also painted the brown frames a matte gold to complement the green and gold wallpaper I chose. Getting close to finishing! I am done! Here is my completed miniature reading room.
Over the last month, I put together this miniature bookstore kit that I bought two winters ago (during the Covid lockdown). Swipe through for progress photos and captions as well as the finished piece. I decided it looked more like that than a bookstore, so I didn’t add in the signage. I love all the personalization I made to the original kit. The final pic shows it under the dust cover (sold separately) and a size comparison next to a venti Starbucks cup. I am so glad I finally got around to completing this kit and am quite pleased with how it turned out!
