I was a long time reading this book. I first started at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 but wasn’t in the right mindset to be able to immerse myself in the story. (I can’t imagine why?) Flash forward three years and I picked it back off my shelf and returned to its world(s). Immersion is an apt word for the experience of reading this novel. You need to do so, I think, in order to fully appreciate its magic. An ode to stories, storytelling, and readers.
